"What the Thai?" Seattle Meditation Center organized the special event entitled "Wat da Thai" where the members and neighbours can experience Thai culture.

The special event organized by Seattle Meditation Center was held at the Seattle Meditation Center on Sunday, August 26th 2018. The event was entitled "Wat da Thai" which plays on the English word "What the Thai" and Thai word "Wat Thai" meaning "Thai temple" to encourage the local members of meditation class and neighbours to learn Thai culture and taste Thai food. The event started by inviting the participants to an alms offering ceremony and offering food to the monastic community (monks). After that, all participants could try Thai food and desserts and learn how to cook from the professional chefs from Thai restaurants around Seattle and neighbouring cities. they also learned Thai culture through Thai traditional games and had a conversation about meditation with the monks.

All participants were invited to join alms offering ceremony.

All meditation class members and neighbours offered food to the monastic community happily regardless how the weather was.

One of meditation class member helped the monk empty his alms bowl.

Everyone enjoyed Thai food and learned some Thai culture.
